We get lots of days off in November. There is no school today,November 1st, because we had conferences earlier this week. We have a PD day on Friday the 8th and no school at all on the 11th. We go only 2 days the week of Thanksgiving. This raises an important question: How do I fill all these unprogrammed hours?
I have some great ideas to help you out!
First off, of course, November Is NaNoWriMo – National Novel Writing Month. Their website has great resources for writers and for teachers who want to challenge students or teach aspects of fiction writing. They even have curricula for k-2. 3-5, 6-8 and 9-12 at their Young Writers Program.
November is also time for Wovember.
Wear 100% wool or make something with it. That is the point of Wovember. Heck, read a book about sheep!
So, celebrate this fantastic month by participating in either, or both, of these events.
