Back in time – SOLSC 4

4 Mar

A few days ago, while driving, I was stopped at a light and saw this in front of me:

In case you can’t read the small print, that is a De Lorean and the license plate reads FLUXN. I smiled hugely and grabbed my camera, which I just happened to have with me.

Although I occasionally wish I’d made a few decisions differently. I wouldn’t want to go back and change things because I’m happy with the way my life turned out.

Besides, it’s good to remember the words of Captain Janeway of the of the Starfleet starship USS Voyager, “Time travel. Since my first day on the job as a Starfleet captain I swore I’d never let myself get caught in one of these godforsaken paradoxes – the future is the past, the past is the future, it all gives me a headache.” And who needs that headache?

It makes me think of this line….

    Time present and time past
Are both perhaps present in time future,
And time future contained in time past. If all time is eternally present
    All time is unredeemable.

Wow! Love that you captured that moment for us. We had a photo scavenger hunt in the 80’s and one of the items on the list was a De Lorean. One group actually found one, the other group took a shot in front of the movie poster for Back to the Future!

Isn’t it great that yo had a chance to take the photo of the car that inspired this slice.
Present is the best. I wouldn’t go to the past or future either.

I would go back in time to switch the period with a question mark in the first sentence. 🙂

Love your references to two awesome cultural icons (Back to the Future and Star Trek Voyager).
