Last week…
I laughed out loud at
the face the girl made when her
neighbor sneezed on her
Monday…
The classroom, normally
so full of chatter, is now
full of coughs and sneezes
Wednesday…
Pain in my cheeks, right
above my back teeth tells me
I’m the next victim
Thursday…
Digging through the cupboard
for prescription decongestants
life is good again
Friday…
Medicine coursing
through my veins – Who put this
goldfish bowl on my head?
I love this and that you were able to capture the path towards us getting sick from our kiddos in a fun way! Oh the feeling when we know it’s coming, and then the foggy feeling when we are fully in it! We can all relate to this poem for sure. 🙂
One of the joys of being a teacher. Students do love sharing.
A fun way to capture the slow, inevitable spread of the cold through a classroom
Love, love your poem. And so true how those germs spread.
This is great! Funny, thoughtful, and so true! ~JudyK
I really enjoyed the structure of a series of haiku,
transitioning from your carefree laughter to your misery! (Sorry!)
OK, so this is pretty genius! I’m sorry you have a cold, but your slice is a gem because of it! Get well soon!
