“Aren’t you cold?” my neighbor asked as she walked towards me, bundled in a down jacket and winter hat.
I was outside in pants and a t-shirt, taking Lucy for her afternoon constitutional, basking in the warmth of the sun on the first day of March. It had been overcast and snowy with nighttime low temps below freezing, for a week. This burst of Friday afternoon sunshine, and temps in the 50s, had me feeling Spring in the air.
I stuck my pale, flaky arms towards her and smiled, “No, I am soaking up the warmth and getting some Vitamin D.”
“I’m still getting mine orally,” she sighed. I laughed and Lucy I waved goodbye as we trotted home, a spring in our steps. I’d taken oral Vitamin D this morning. And I’d take some tomorrow morning, too, but this day, I wasn’t going to pass up the opportunity to get some the old-fashioned natural way.
